With the lion’s share of Michael’s experience gained in-house at some of the UK’s biggest companies, his approach is different to most lawyers.
His knowledge from the coal-face at Channel 4, ITV, Lion TV, AOL, TimeInc. (UK) and Tesco intertwined his legal understanding of the acquisition, production, licensing and distribution of content on traditional and digital media networks and platforms with the commercial reality of negotiating those deals.
He was the lead project lawyer for Tesco’s first generation Hudl tablet – overseeing every aspect of the project from inception to post-launch. He sat with the Hudl team, actively advising on every aspect of the product – from the OEM negotiation, through to the branding, data management and software (UX / UI) development.
At Tesco he started applying the team’s Agile methodology to legal contracts.
